La serie The Empyrean:
1) FOURTH WING
Dragons do not answer to the whims of men.
Torno sul luogo del delitto, ovvero a proseguire la serie che ha diviso i lettori tra adoranti e contestatori.
A me il primo libro è piaciuto moltissimo (e a casa nostra i consensi sono stati unanimi), per cui non potevamo non gettarci sul secondo volume, per quanto in inglese, anche a fronte del fatto che, uscito a inizio a novembre, su Amazon ha superato qualcosa come 75.000 recensioni. Direi quindi che non eravamo i soli lettori curiosi...
Mi è piaciuto? Sì, se possibile ancor più del secondo. Molto più del secondo.
In oltre 700 pagine (per fortuna, bevute sull'e-reader) la Yarros tira fuori dal cilindro sorprese divertenti e colpi di scena emozionanti.
Se pensavate che la nostra Violet, superato il primo anno, potesse tirare un sospiro di sollievo... proprio no. In molti la vogliono morta, e come sappiamo i nemici sono anche interni a Navarra, e ora più che mai anche il suo gruppo è in pericolo.
Se pensavate che Xaden Riorson avesse esaurito la sua funzione di coprotagonista belloccio, sensuale, ambizioso e ambiguo, anche lì c'è ancora molto da apprendere (comprese succulente notizie sul suo passato: certo, lui non aveva mai dichiarato che Violet fosse il suo primo amore...).
Se pensavate che la famiglia Sorrengail avesse già dato, scoprirete che mamma generale e "siblings" sono fortemente intenzionati a lasciare il segno, nel Regno e forse nell'intero continente.
E i draghi? Non restano come contorno, ma si insinuano di prepotenza per dare consigli, criticare e venire in soccorso.
Conclusioni: appartengo al team #Yarros e sono fortemente persuasa a completare questa quadrilogia (missione: possibilmente in inglese).
